We carry the full line of
Matrix Sunglasses including all of those from the new
Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions movies. Sunglasses
feature shatterproof polycarbonate lenses and full UV
protection. All Matrix sunglasses have metal frames with
dark lenses and ship brand new in plastic protective packaging.
Lens Material
All of our
sunglasses have polycarbonate lenses. Polycarbonate (PCB)
is the newest development in lens materials. It is Lexan
from G.E., the same material used for bullet resistant
glass in autos. The lens material is so hard that a diamond-cutting
tool is used to cut them. To form the glasses the material
is melted and them force injected into a special mold.
All of our sunglasses are coated with a scratch resistant
coating, but can still be damages if mishandled. We recommend
getting a microfiber bag. The PCB material is naturally
UV absorbing, so all the lenses are 100% Ultraviolet protected.
Polycarbonate in certain glasses is actually approved
for use as safety glasses. Polycarbonate lenses are lightweight,
durable, impact-resistant and the most scratch-resistant
of the plastics. They are virtually impossible to break.
Polycarbonate eyewear is the only approved eye protection
for major Police & Fire Departments. The "bullet-proof"
plastic known as LEXAN® is one type of polycarbonate.
Lens
Tint
Matrix sunglasses
have smoke lenses. This is the most
common lens color. It transmits all colors evenly without
changing value of color. Light enough not to impair vision,
yet dark enough to provide overall protection from glare.
Excellent for bright sunny days. Lenses appear very dark
from outside, and do not allow the eyes to be seen. Some
of our sunglasses like the Neo 3 style feature super-flash
mirror coating, which makes the lens look like a mirror
from the outside while still providing the same tint and
protection.
UV
Protection
All of our Matrix sunglasses provide the
industry standard UV 400 eye protection which protects
100% of harmful rays. All Matrix sunglasses are warranted
by the manufacturer to meet or exceed applicable U.S.
Government standards for ultraviolet protection and impact
resistance.
Tips
Matrix sunglasses are very
durable, but are still sunglasses. If you step on them
they will break. Exercise care when handling them. If
your lenses need to be cleaned use a microfiber (available
on our website) material. Store your sunglasses in a case
or bag which will protect them from getting scratched.
